In the morning a letter came, informing us that the night before a hedgehog had been hit by a car in the small borough of Lagedi, Harju County. The writer was afraid the small animal wasn’t going to make it as there had been a lot of blood on the road. The brave creature survived the night OK and we took him to Kopli Animal Clinic in the morning where the hedgehog was thoroughly examined by Veterinarian Kelli Lomper. The initial diagnosis was promising indeed as the X-ray showed no fractures. The little hedgehog, weighing half a kilogram, was full of the desire to live and consumed one can of pate after another. For now, he will remain in our care for recuperation and, if no complications arise, will soon return to the forest to resume his hedgehog life.
